SIX AMS NEVE DFC GEMINI in SPAIN

Imm Sound, in Barcelona has just installed the sixth digital audio console for mixing film from AMS NEVE. Taking advantage of this marvelous console already are: Best Digital & Soundub in Madrid, and Sonoblok & Soundub (2 consoles) in Barcelona.

This new DFC has 32 faders, 12 stems & is designed for mixing 3D, Imm Sound's speciality.

COLLECTION OF BAROQUE MUSIC FROM LATIN AMERICA

In the 1st photo we see Maria Felicia Pérez, director of the Exaudi Choir & Alejandro Massó, producer of this collection.

In Kash's studio, we have done all of the assembling, mixing & mastering of a collection of baroque music from Latin America for REPSOL YPF.

These recordings have received many prizes including various "Máximo Galardón from Le Monde de la Musicque (París), "ffff" from Diapason & Télérama de París. The European Assoc. of Musical Critics said, speaking of the recording El Gran Barroco de Boliva, "one of the 10 best recordings of the year 2000 in the whole world".

THE MONKS OF SILOS, Gregorian Chants

At Kash, we worked up to 35 hours on each of the more than a dozen recordings in this collection of CD's of the famous "Monks of Silos" to restore the original recordings from the 1950's & '60's using CEDAR noise reduction systems & the AMS Neve LOGIC 1 digital console with its extensive filters & EQ sections.

A collection of religious music. Audio restoration was done at Studios Kash. It was a similar job as that done with the "Monks of Silos".

This is a collection of CD's that were mixed & mastered at Studios Kash. Produced by A. Massó, these are beautiful recordings by the famous Cuban choir Exaudi.

A real pleasure to work with musicians of this calibre!

In the past, we have had the pleasure of colaborating in the recording of international artists such as THE CHIEFTAINS (their CD entitled "SANTIAGO"), and DEPECHE MODE (their CD "SONGS OF FAITH AND DEVOTION").

We have dubbed films and worked with such well-known artists as PACO RABAL, Victoria Abril, Miguel Bosé, Rossy de Palma, & Penélope Cruz.

TELECINCO (Madrid)

Shown in the adjacent photo is one of the audio studios at Telecinco (TV5) in Madrid, where the are running SEVEN AMS Neve LIBRA LIVE Series II digital audio consoles in on-air audio studios.

Six of the consoles are exactly the same as the one show (36 faders in a 48 fader frame).

The 7th console is in a Virtual Studio, and it is a Libra with 24 faders. All seven consoles are used in live shows, and are responsable for the good audio we listen to on TV5 every day. The reaction of the operators to the consoles is very positivie, particularly as they can work as a two man team at the desks thanks to the double AFU (central sections) included on their consoles.

TELEVISIO DE CATALUNYA TV3 (Barcelona)

TV3 has recently adquired FOUR AMS Neve LIBRA LIVE Series II/G bringing their total of these digital audio consoles to five. The first console is installed in their 24 hour news channel (3/24) and is a 24 fader desk.

Three consoles, destined for the CPA section of the station, have 42 faders, and use extensive I/0 (particularly mic preamps) in the form of MIOS racks in the stage area.

Another console, for a larger news studio has 48 faders.

During the operator's course, the operators commented on how logical the Libra Live is as far as operational matters. Peré Janes, from the technical department, said that "no other manufacturer had the I/O problem solved as does AMS Neve, a strong point in the decision to go with the Libra Live.

SONOBLOK STUDIOS (Barcelona)

Sonoblok, a Barcelona based film mixing complex, has an AMS Neve DFC (Digitgal Film Console). Their DFC has 40 faders in a 64 fader chasis (for future expansion). The 40 faders correspond to 160 channels!

The DFC includes Total Surround Control (7.1 monitoring), & external machine control (Machine Control Panel). The I/O on the console consists of 32 inputs/32 outputs (analogue), 224 mono AES/EBU inputs, and 96 mono AES/EBU outputs....all with automatic sample rate conversion. It has 3 ports free for future I/O expansion, and ENCORE automation, which is compatible throughout the AMS Neve of analogue & digital consoles.

Soundtrack Studios, in Barcelona, now have TWO mixing rooms with the AMS Neve DFC (Digital Film Console, along with a third mixing room with the AMS Neve Logic 2 console, two smaller rooms with AMS Neve Logic 3 consoles, and 13 dubbing rooms which use the AMS Neve AudioFile hard disk recorder/editor.
